It has certainly happened here in Georgia with the flag changed several times until the Confederate Cross was finally removed.
Sure, AiA, but that is the
State of Georgia flag you are talking about. Not the Stars and Stripes! I actually could NOT distinguish any of the Australian STATE flags (except I do know all the state "flowers" which I think adorns most of them). So it would be guess work!
Can you imagine the carry on if "somebody" started talking about changing the
USA National Flag ... the Stars and Stripes. It would be worse than the Gun Lobbyists demos.
People here in Georgia are still fighting the Civil War and take it very seriously.
