As irritating and obnoxious as Jones can be at times, these cyber bullies should be stopped. How can two young people devote their time to such hate? Alan Jones is an elderly man with a big mouth - so what! If he was totally bad - he wouldn't attract the huge audience that he does.

What these two cyber bullies are doing with their online campaign is actually worse than anything Jones has attempted. He makes his sensationalist comments and then moves on, but this bored young couple have got a grip on a hate campaign and they're not letting go. People don't even have to get off their backsides and attend rallies any longer - they can just start an online petition to destroy a person.

This is disgusting and this sort of hate petition might very well set a precedent in order to destroy people and businesses.

Both mounted separate online campaigns blamed for inciting cyber-bullying of staff who work at businesses which advertise on Sydney's highest rating breakfast radio program, 2GB's Alan Jones show. Some have been left in tears.

Mr Lochner started the original Sack Alan Jones Facebook page with mate Vinay Orekondy after reading The Sunday Telegraph's story that revealed Jones told a Young Liberals dinner that Julia Gillard's father "died of shame" because of his daughter's "lies".

"Almost as an afterthought, we added a link to a petition I started on Change.org which called for an advertising boycott of Mr Jones' program," he said.

The petition quickly notched up more than 100,000 signatures - but Jones yesterday called into question the authenticity of some of those claiming to be outraged.

During his ad-free show, he said among those who signed up were Mickey Mouse, Daffy Duck, Osama bin Laden and Ronald Ryan, the last man hanged in Australia.

Change.org officials said while some fake names may have appeared briefly they were quickly purged through a series of stringent checks.

Petition organiser Mr Lochner said it was Jones who had fostered a "culture of unadulterated hate and vitriol".

"The sort of things Alan Jones has said in his private life make his position untenable as a public commentator."

He said he believed "by advertising on Jones' show advertisers are supporting that culture of hate."

Accusations that he and others incited cyber-bullying of advertisers was simply an effort by the Macquarie Radio Network and Jones to "deflect the attention in the hope this would blow over", he said.

He has urged campaigners to continue calling for Jones to be sacked and said the online petition would not stop until he was stood down.

Mrs Price, who started the Destroy The Joint Facebook page, remains equally unapologetic. The former Fairfax journalist who still writes opinion pieces and lectures in journalism at UTS Sydney, went on Chris Smith's 2GB afternoon program yesterday.

Where is the bullying? People are expressing an opinion, using modern technology.

And that makes their point less valid? For years, Jones has been using the technology available to him to destroy people. He is getting some of his own back, and not before time.

What is disgusting about people having their say? Would it be less disgusting if they could not use the net, and could only shout from the wilderness of their back-yard? It seems you are pissed off because their voice is being heard at last.

It sends a message to the media that they no longer have a monopoly on access to the masses, and if they abuse the access they have, the masses can fight back at them and those who allow them the commercial air to breath. If you don't like fleas, don't sleep with the dog.
