Abbott has really surpassed himself with this one. Those who will be the main beneficiaries of this compensation will be those with dual citizenship who visit the Middle East and Israel on a regular basis.

The issuing of dual citizenship is one of the worst policies implemented by the Howard government.

Tony Abbott plea to spread $75,000 payouts to all Australian victims of overseas terror

VICTIMS of overseas terrorist attacks - including the two Bali bombings and September 11 - would get $75,000 lump sum compensation payments for ongoing trauma, under an Abbott government.

Opposition Leader Tony Abbott said the money would be paid to survivors with physical injuries or mental trauma, and the dead's next of kin.

We spend more on illegal boat people mantra.
I'd rather it went to Aussie taxpayers.

I note in todays SMH, David Marr writes yet another LW Progressive driven personal attack on Tony Abbott. Another anti-woman piece without substantiation or any factual backup, just the "hearsay" rumour of an old political rival. One that has been mentioned before and every time fails the test of proof. Does Marr call it an allegation? Of course not.

He has to be the biggest wanker in the media bar none. Yet another new low for you David.

Where there's smoke.....

It wasn't that long ago that another woman claimed that Abbott in the 70's had sleazily come up behind her and put his hands between her legs. She was very upset and I can't recall whether she laid charges or not at the time.

I don't think it's too hard to imagine that Abbott would have a violent, sexual core kept well hidden today.

What a load of bullshit mantra.
That again, never happened, and it certainly wasn't reported like you just remembered it.
That's front page news if it was true, and political death to Tony Abbott, which the ALP and these people who suddenly come out of the woodwork want.
BTW, wasn't it the same woman? Or was it another female political rival?

You just want to think the worst of Abbott, because of your political and personal beliefs, and that is pathetic.

Oh just as correction to my previous post. B4 the pedants point it out and I have to explain it all again. Yes I know Damian Murphy actually wrote the actual article in the SMH not David Marr. But all the information was provided by David Marr. Yes I should have been more careful and circumspect with what I wrote earlier. But the sight and sound of David Marr or even just his name, makes me apoplectic.
Author David Marr sees a vicious streak in Tony Abbott.
Author David Marr traced a vicious streak in Tony Abbott.

Barbara Ramjan, a social work student in 1977, told the author and journalist David Marr
The allegation is raised in Marr's article, Political Animal: The Making of Tony Abbott, in the latest issue of Quarterly Essay.
For a political leader still struggling to gain traction with female voters, it is a hugely damaging allegation and perhaps unsurprisingly Mr Abbott's rebuttal was the only comment he was prepared to make when he granted Marr an interview for the article.
In his latest work, with Mr Abbott poised in opinion polls to capture the prime ministership, Marr charts his rise from university politics tyro through a learning curve of political fixer to Parliament and eventually the opposition leadership.
Marr traced the influences on Mr Abbott, including two Jesuits - one at Riverview and the other in England during his Rhodes scholarship days - John Howard and the ALP wrecking ball Bob Santamaria.
Marr said the Santamaria dictum - when you have not got the numbers be vicious - had become Mr Abbott's hallmark and, time and again, he had shown when there was a choice between values or politics he chose the pragmatic option.
Yesterday Mr Abbott contacted the Herald with an on-the-record quote: ''It never happened."

Being a macho man - perhaps Abbott doesn't like giving interviews to gay men? Abbott is possibly more unpopular with females than Gillard is with males.

I read about it in an article on Ozpolitic a few months ago. I've been hunting for the link - but there are so many hundreds of threads there - it would take ages to find even if I knew the thread title. Abbott was at some rally in Sydney and he touched a women inappropriately - the act of a desperado. I can't remember whether charges were laid and then dropped - but I'll message Skippy later and ask him if he remembers the thread - if it's that important to you.

I very much doubt Abbott is homophobic considering he knows some and one in particular is a very influential in the media. Just more Labor propaganda. I'd not give Marr an interview based on the fact he's an arsehole.

No mantra that is incorrect. And no it isn't important to me. If I was a Labor rusted-on it might be because they grasp at as many straws as they can these days.

:roll:

Abbott was speaking at a political student rally along with his accuser who was a female leftwing bra burning cvnt

She was speaking on the podium and Abbott and a raft of other people were behind her on the stage and cvnt accused Abbott of feeling her up- like any right winger is going to try and feel up some unwashed giant hairy 70s pubic wig

Abbott has 7 eyewitnesses that all said it was bullshit and It was thrown out of court

The only lesson here is that leftwingers have always been lying fucking vexatious scum. Political forums are a microcosm of this fact
Monk= leftwing= liar
Aussie=leftwing=liar
Skippy=leftwing=liar
Mantra=leftwing=liar

Maybe you mean this.
From when he was 20 mantra not recent at all.
She told the North Sydney court that someone had called out: "Why don't you smile, honey?" Then a youth had touched her on the upper part of her leg.

Mr Abbott, then 20, pleaded not guilty.

The Daily Telegraph report said: "Miss Wilson said as she approached the microphone . . . two youths moved up behind her. I note 2 youths.

"She said: 'I had just commenced speaking when I felt a hand between my legs on my lower buttocks. I was wearing jeans. I jumped back, turned around, and saw Tony Abbott laughing about two feet away. The people in the audience began laughing and jeering', Miss Wilson said." Suddenly the point of contact has changed. Not to mention Abbott was 2 feet away, my he has such long arms. Perhaps he was laughing at what the other youth did.

Questioned by Mr Abbott's lawyer, the woman, who said she was the editor of two student newspapers, denied she was a women's activist. She was.

"She also denied having brought the charge against Abbott because he was a student leader with political views which clashed with hers," The Daily Telegraph report said. Probably did.

Mr Abbott, who was in his third year of economics and law studies, told the court he had been asked to the college to support withdrawal from the AUS.

"Abbott said: 'She was speaking about me in a highly critical way, calling me an AUS basher and noted right-wing supporter'," The Daily Telegraph reported. Which backs the lawyers assertions.

"'To let her know I was standing behind her I leaned forward and tapped her on the back, about the level of her jeans belt. I just wanted to attract her attention'." Reasonable to me.

Seven witnesses said they saw Mr Abbott touch Ms Wilson on the back. Not on the arse and not between the legs mantra.

Outside the court Mr Abbott said the woman's evidence was "politically motivated". He threatened to consider action for malicious prosecution. He should have. The charges against Abbott were dismissed by the court, it would seem he doesn't hold grudges.
I don't find any of this incongruous with the; Christian, self effacing, humble charity worker and community minded politician he is today. He doesn't even go around bragging about saving one kid from drowning and another from a fire, when he was a youth or all the other people he's come to the aid of or his aboriginal community work since. How you can sit there and taint him simply as a bad guy is beyond me.

"The missing element of self-doubt". Smh.com.au. 5 December 2009.
Beyond his involvement in student politics, biographer Michael Duffy, wrote that during his student days he once "saved a child who was swept out to sea. Another time, helped save children from a burning house next to a pub where he was drinking. On each occasion he disappeared before he could be properly thanked.
