Apologies if I offended you Neferti. I do understand the word 'exemplar,' and I believe I used it correctly. As for what Windsor said, my view is that he is totally correct. Parliament is not the place where Trials take place. That is the function, a separate function or power of the Judiciary.

The parliament needs to be held to higher accountability than it's general citizens

If not for the tight numbers, Thompson would have been booted already. That he hasn't is testament to the lack of dignity and respect that labor has for the office and that gurgling sound is the last remnants of labors political nous, acumen and careers disappearing down the plughole

The Constitution sets out to whom Parliamentarians are responsible. The Westminster System enshrines the concept of the separation of powers. The Parliament is not and never can or will be Prosecutor, Judge and Jury. Do you disagree, and if so, please explain why and how Parliament somehow displaces the function of the Courts.

Who is asking them to be judge jury and prosecutor?

Would you insist that a teacher of your children who has had accusations raised against him of molestation not be stood down from his position?

It just shows the depths of depravity that labor and their supporters are willing to stoop to hold onto power

Obviously it's been set up that way so politicians aren't held accountable for their criminality unless they're charged. Apart from paedophilia and murder - they can do what they please as the State and Federal police and relative prosecutors are answerable to them only.

Labor leads the way in corruption, but the opposition haven't got clean hands either so our country is run by criminals. Although there might be some politicians who are basically honest, most of them are still guilty of protecting their own therefore can be called corrupt also.

There is very much more to this than meets the immediate eye. The Media today reported on an AEC Report which allegedly almost completely clears Craig of any wrong doing concerning use of Union funds in his election campaign. (As an aside, I thought it is a given that Union Funds are used to fund ALP election campaigns?) But this http://www.independentaustralia.net/201 ... t/onclick=" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; reveals much more intrigue, and closely links the Leader of the Opposition to people at the coal face of allegations against Craig, including one at the pinnacle of FWA.

Regardless, where there is smoke there is fire. Some Leftie rag saying he is OK is not good enough. Why blame Abbott for that?

Oh, and have you actually read The Constitution? Here http://www.aph.gov.au/About_Parliament/ ... nstitution refer us to where it states that Leftie politicians can do as they please and that using Union Funds are off the list of offences.

Labor is GONE next election regardless of how you try to spin it to make it the Opposition's fault.

Not only that, not a single sex worker or front of house person has come forward and said that Craig had visited XYZ brothel and availed himself of the services. Craig was even out of the state when he was supposed to be getting a paid for root in Sydney!

The sort of “evidence” for use of sex workers the FWA report gave was Craig paying to park his car a half hours walk from Touch of Class brothel. Well worth reading that independent australia link someone put up.

Like any brothel is going to come forward and reveal their clientele

When it comes to the Liebor party, you might as well publish the local AA meeting too. Perhaps your name might appear on the NA list too :rofl

The opposition's job is to destroy their opponent, but if Abbott has stuffed up again (ie Pauline Hanson) and corroborated with Kathy Jackson & co. to vilify Thompson without real evidence - it won't do his popularity much good.

If we're to believe the story about the fraudulent use of his credit cards and the prostitutes and no government body can find enough evidence to charge him - then this indicates that either the government and the public service are corrupt or Craig Thomson is innocent.

If the government was genuinely corrupt - then surely the Coalition would have approached the Governor General by now with a valid reason to sack them.
