Some recent studies reporting deep-ocean warming were, in fact, referring to the warming in the upper half of the ocean but below the topmost layer, which ends about 0.4 mile (700 meters) down.

There's no point. We tipped into 'Runaway Global Warming' in 2007.
The Russian and Swedish navies found huge areas in the Arctic ocean where the thawed Methane Clathrate (formerly frozen under sea floor) is bubbling to the surface and collecting in our atmosphere. It's long been known that once the Methane Clathrates are released into the atmosphere we are beyond the point of no return. Remediation is no longer an option,
our only choice is mitigation or do nothing.

Besides if we were genuine about reducing GHG emissions, we wouldn't just target CO2. We'd have to deal with CH4 (24 times more heat trapping than CO2), so pick on cattle and pig farmers, plus land fill sites and swamps. And we'd have to target N2O (240 times more heat trapping than CO2) so pick on fruit and vege growers every time they fertilize their crops.

I've just finished reading Greg Combet's recently released book. It is the first time anyone has been able to easily explain carbon pricing to me. He is right. It never was a tax, and it was silly politics for Gillard to concede it could be described as a tax.

That Greg Hunt has diverse sources.
That weather is not climate?
That the department has Thermageddonists in it still?

Did you forget perhaps that Greg Hunt himself is a true believer even if he is a small "t" Thermageddonist.
