IMO ( and given what has happened ) .. I feel we should be exploring other options BEFORE considering nuclear energy.
I would rather die than sell my heart and soul to an online forum Anti Christ like you Monk

Considering how old and outdated those reactors were, that they were hit both with a 9.0 earthquake and then a tsunami the lack of serious consequences makes nuclear sound pretty good.

With a 4 or 5th Gen nuke plant the reaction would just stop, no exposed fuel rods etc. We need nuke to reduce emissions.

With a 4th or 5th wankeration reactor there should be plenty of plutonium around. Then a piece of it should be padlocked to your neck.

If they can stand all of this, and still not go nuclear, they're a shoe in anywhere not earthquake/tsunami prone.

The Japanese have lived with fallout worse than this :x

We shall see, considering the vastly more radioactive material involved, Fukushima has the potential to release many thousands of times more Cesium into the environs than Hiroshima and Nakasaki combined.

hasn’t done it yet, and they were grievously effected by earthquake and tsunami.

Nuke is going to play a role in our energy production and emissions lowering, end of story.

Well, I can only say this, Low IQ's is very boring with it's constant crap on everything,
it's no wonder people sign up and then leave, there is no intelligent comments made by the radicals,
when this particular post was put in there was a fairly good conversation going on, but then the dickhead had to jump in with all it's bullshit and then add crap about politics that had nothing to do with it.
If all you lot can do is be gabbling on with bullshit and no intelligent input then whats the sence in having an Aussie Forum?
hence the name OZ Political Animal, sure, there is the page for political discussion and debate, but it should stay in there not thrown onto every other subject and watch it be destroyed.
Wake up you lot.
Nothing wrong with being "Colourful" as you put it, but to go on and on and on with degredation at every single comment is utter stupidity.
