I only have eyes for Mr Abbott Neferti. He will ditch the witch, axe the tax, stop the waste and he has decided not to stop the boats anymore but he is still stopping something about boats, and best of all he is a grown up who said Australia is open for business now. He's my man, not those leftards. They are just awful Neferti, awful.

Let's just call them homosexuals, OK? You don't know who might be lurking on here and find the term "poof" objectionable!Phil E. Buster wrote:I only have eyes for Mr Abbott Neferti. PS are female homosexuals called "poofs" too?

I am highly offended by the term 'poof'. It causes me to remember all the money that I wasted on that lemon Ford Falcon.

What's in a name really anyway.
The world has gone crazy with political correctness. Anyone can choose to be offended by any name.
In the UK, if you call a person from Pakistan a "pakky" you are being racist.
In Australia if you call someone black you are being a racist where it is OK in the US and the UK. Man it took me a while to adjust when I first arrived.
They call me an "Aussie" or "Skip" and I get many other names that relate to my origin. Should I be insulted and take offense.... no fucking way.
Being called names if not the issue. I use the term poof but am not homophobic. I had a gay friend in Sydney and his nick name was "Poof". He lived with it and all was well in the world. As I tell people here in the UK and US. In Australia it is not the words we use it is how they are used. The word is not the problem. It is all in the delivery.

So, what you're saying is that most of the people who call a Pakistani a "pakky" are indeed being racist, because "it's all in the delivery", after all...Super Nova wrote:What's in a name really anyway.

Re: ACT introduces Marriage Equality Bill
Ummm. It does depend on how it is delivered from my perspective. If you direct it to the person yelling "PAKKY" it think that could be considered racist. If you refer to Mohammad as a "Pakky" or ask if he was a "Pakky" I don't think it is. It stereotyping but not racist. Is calling the English POMs racist? Calling the Dutch "Clogs" or the US "Yanks". I don't think so.boxy wrote:So, what you're saying is that most of the people who call a Pakistani a "pakky" are indeed being racist, because "it's all in the delivery", after all...Super Nova wrote:What's in a name really anyway.

OFF TOPIC
The UK is NOT a good example of how multicultural should be. Australia should take notice and limit those so-called "asylum seekers" who are from countries known to be troublesome. We are a VERY small country, population-wise. Already we have the Lebanese immigrants trying us and the Government on and flying off to fight some war or other in the Middle East. These people do NOT want to be Australians. They (those who do this) should just go back HOME and suffer, rather than sit here, in Good Old Australia and take us for fools.
The REAL asylum seekers in war torn countries, have no money to travel and are in camps where the WHO and others are looking after them until they are well enough to travel (by plane at taxpayers expense) to Australia. I welcome these people who are very needy. I do not appreciate people who are attracted to Australia to set up shop as a Muslim territory and who have paid great sums of money to transport themselves here on "leaky boats". If they really wanted to be here and had the money, why not just grab a plane and go through Customs like everybody else has to? SLY? That is a bad word and bad people do it.
