Care to prove that?
So far global emissions have continued to increase despite the tax and it's effects on our costs of living and industry.

Re: Tony Abbott - an economic simpleton
If Howard's economic policies failed to improve job prospects in China, you wouldn't demand an explanation from Howard's supporters would you? So why do the simpletons who support Abbott insist that the carbon tax should be judged on whether it has a global impact when it is clearly intended to reduce Australian emissions? The answer is because they parrot Liberal party propaganda without thinking for themselves. And before you go off on another tangent, both major parties have identical emissions reduction targets (for Australia) that are linked to global agreements. This is entirely separate from the mechanism used locally to reduce emissions.
This is the simpleton economics that Abbott is feeding his supporters.

As other developed countries begin to implement or have already implemented the tax - they are signing up to the international carbon credit exchange. We will not be able to participate. So far global emissions have continued to increase despite the tax and it's effects on our costs of living and industry.
Countries implementing carbon tax....
As we've signed onto free trade agreements with most of these nations (including carbon credit trading) - not only are we going to end up regressing to third world status, we will look like hillbillies to the rest of the world.Africa, South Africa, Asia, China, India, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, European Union, Denmark, Finland, France, Republic of Ireland, Netherlands, Sweden, United Kingdom, Norway, Switzerland, Central America, Costa Rica, North America, Canada
Big business will not let Abbott repeal the carbon tax.

it is you incapable to answer questions or unwilling to.
The supposed problem is global... there are no boundaries fd. Surely you know this.
I am asking how is putting my electricity bill up and sending me broke is going to change the climate.
Or do you perhaps believe that the almosphere is not global and each country has an enclosed bit all to itself?

I don't care for it at all. It is economic vandalism of the highest order and will be gone in a massive mandate come Sept.freediver wrote:You don't care whether it is the cheapest way to reduce emissions?Doesn't matter in any case.
The irony is that the ALP and the Greens effectively sealed the fate of ever having a carbon economy because it is recognised as toxic to the voters and undermined by dodgy models that failed to predict the pause in warming despite increasing CO2.
As a science experiment, that's pretty much game over for the introduction of taxes either here or globally.
Coupled to Gillards lie and bending over for The Greens while fucking the majority over, you won't see your favourite little piece of communism enacted for a very long time if at all if the current trend of no warming continues.
What a shame for you

If you are truly worried about CO2 you invest in technology you don't people and industry into the grave. that's what will make us a 3rd world country.

The carbon tax is currently set in the mid-high $20 mark which is way above the market, so tell me FD, what are the projections for Australia's emissions by 2015?
Why are they up and not down according to your 'brilliant' economic theory? You really should have studied something a bit more useful at TAFE than that arts course.
