First off let me try an explain the QUOTE for you...

The implication is that marriages are failing, lots of them because lots of couples don't take their vows seriously. Well first off you need to consider why take them in the first place if you don't at the time consider them seriously. Vows can be "customised" you know.
I suggest that in fact many people do in fact take their vows seriously, especially those who are religious and get married in a church... just because things don't work out doesn't mean they didn't go into it seriously now does it...? things change... that's life.

Your stats re the quote you are arguing is irrelevant. It's about people taking vows seriously not how many people get divorced.
