Then why did you say this?mantra wrote:I know that. The issue we were discussing was Rudd's mining tax.IQS.RLOW wrote:No mining tax is not the same as not paying 'any' tax.
Did your Dishonesty gene get over ridden by the stupid lefty gene or did the stupid lefty gene get over ridden by the dishonesty gene?Abbott is pro-mining and doesn't believe they should pay any tax.
mantra's original post wrote:Gillard shouldn't have changed Rudd's original mining tax to a lesser one. We're getting nothing from the current tax, yet would have done very well if Labor had weathered the storm which always happens after a tax is introduced.
Mining is everywhere now and the state Liberals have sacrificed health and the environment to allow mining encroachment into well populated areas. Abbott is pro-mining and doesn't believe they should pay any tax.
Do you have any evidence of this, or is it another faulty lefty gene that needs to be studied?Mining is everywhere now and the state Liberals have sacrificed health and the environment to allow mining encroachment into well populated areas.
Until this last post of yours - you have discussed nothing factual - just your usual moron andRorschach wrote:Insult and Flame away mantra... and you wonder why people give it back to you.
I've been trying to discuss things with you factually and without returning fire.
Didn't I provide a link this morning to the new legislation that the NSW state liberals have drawn up in order to over-ride the Land and Environmental Court? As you said the States were/are involved.
Where did I say that the miners should not pay tax. Again you've taken me out of context when it was obvious I was discussing the mining companies and had made specific reference to Rudd's mining tax which Gillard reduced to an ineffective tax.States have mining royalties... Rudd and Gillard's taxes churned mining company profits and State Royalties. The Rudd mining tax was the resource super profits tax, or RSPT. It was designed to replace the array of royalties that mining companies paid to the states. Any profit made by mining companies that was above 6% of their capital investment would have been taxed at 40%, and all royalties presently paid to the states would be rebated. Gillard's tax the MRRT changed the parameters.
The Coalition policy is to remove the MRRT not the State taxes. Miners will still be taxed. It will restore back to the status quo and end the unnecessary churn and rebate. Miners will still pay tax under a Coalition government, just not the extra federal tax and the federal government will not have to compensate by rebate the miners for the state royalties. State royalties will revert to past practices.
Now where in all that did Abbott say that miners should not pay any tax?
To quote one of your favourite insults...once again for the dummy and straight from the Liberals' website.Would have been so much easier if you just admitted you lied in the first place.
QUESTION:
Do you still commit to getting rid of both taxes if you win office and, I mean, how are you going to do that? Surely it’s going to be extremely hard because they’re so tied up.
TONY ABBOTT:
Well, we are absolutely 100 per cent committed to repealing the carbon tax and the mining tax.

5/ I didn't say YOU said miners should not pay tax... that is another lie. I quoted you. How many times do I have to repost your words?Where did I say that the miners should not pay tax. Again you've taken me out of context when it was obvious I was discussing the mining companies and had made specific reference to Rudd's mining tax which Gillard reduced to an ineffective tax.
