There will be quite a bit of tension in Pakistan because of this. There was no absolute permission for the US and allies to enter the country for military combat purposes. Yet that is what they have done.
Interesting that Osama was located in the capital in a million dollar compound near by a pakistan military base. How did they miss that?

Well the (US) version of events now is that the US never asked Pakistani permission or even consulted them in anyway to ensure secrecy and success ... which sounds very plausible ... and that the raiding Seals live streamed to battle to Obama in which Usama is seen (but not confirmed to be firing a weapon) and supposedly uses his youngest of 4 wives as a human shield ... but when viewing video of the claimed aftermath, there's no bodies, just what looks like blood on a furniture/bed and a large hole in the wall ... nothing to indicate/show that the vid had anything to do with the claimed event.
Bin Laden wife served as human shield: US official

As previously noticed, Uncle Sam said he had and DNA tested Usama's body, then disposed of their tangible proof at an undisclosed location at sea, and in accordance with Muslim/Islamic belief/tradition.
Now, just as I expected, muslims are condemning the disposal at sea because it conflicts with Muslim/Islamic belief/tradition.

Having never used or am likely to use Twitter, I'm in no position to judge the veracity of what so far seems to be the only evidence that this incident actually happened.

Righto, so let's say for argument's sake this supposed black op is really just a ficticious stage play.
Why would Uncle Sam do such a thing? .. what's the point? you ask.
2 reasons.
1st: U$A is broke and wants to withdraw troops from all theatres of war from which U$A does not financially or materially benefit (natural resources), which means Afganistan, but not Iraq.
2nd: Obama needs a win, a kill, or some measure of achievement regarding his prior promises to regain some of his lost popularity, because as he's yet to sastisfy anybody with his list of unfulfilled promises and Prez elections are next year.

Ahhh Outlaw Yogi is one of those conspiracy theorists who sit around a campfire smoking dope.
The Mayans predicted the end of the world in December 2012, but they didn't see the Spanish coming

Sure you wish it were so, but my conspiracy theory is based on questionable claims regarding this event.
So far US actions (according to their own story) are inconsistent and they haven't offered/shown anything tangible as proof or even evidence of their claims.
It is true I sit beside camp fires and it is true I regularly smoke weed, but haven't done both together for 20 years or more. Generally I use camp fires for warmth and cooking, while dope smoking is done indoors where there's no wind.
Y'see Pasta, with what we're being fed though medias there's nothing to indicate any of it is real, not a scrap of evidence to support any of the claims. Not even a photo of the body, yet they supposedly live streamed the battle/skirmish to Obama.
It'd be like if you and/or your collegues at Lucas Heights had made some world changing discovery, the media agent publicly announces it, then you or collegues dump your evidence in Botany Bay and expect us to take your word for it.

It may seem convenient, but not sure seeing a guys head after a rifle bullet has gone through it, would be the most appetising thing to see.

Its supposed to be the war on terror, not an aesthetics contest.
You're generally one who requires some level of credible evidence ... links/sources/references, but on this topic you seem quite happy to be an unquestioning sheep.
Why should any rational individual believe someone when they say they have proof and then say they destroyed the proof?
It's completely illogical.

Umm, they never said they destroyed the proof. They have photos, they have DNA evidence. I'm prepared to be convinced either way, but I haven't seen anything that makes me believe that they didn't kill him.

Dumped/disposed of at sea at undisclosed location is as good as destroyed. The photos don't show any bodies or anything linking them with this elleged incident. They say they have DNA evidence, but they say lots false things regularly. Without the body and bin Laden family DNA samples to be independently verified, we have no way of knowing if the claimed DNA evidence is bin Laden, human, sacrificial goat, the Seal's ship mascot, or if exists at all.
I'm prepared to be convinced when I see some evidence, because so far there's nothing to indicate UsB has been anywhere on Earth since late 2001.
