A good move for the Liberal Party. Just a shame Turnbull couldn't see past his own angst & put Robb in as shadow Treasurer. Joe hasn't got the balls to carry off the shadow treasury role in my view.

Quite pathetic really. Just the media to blame, nothing to do with a total lack of talent, the inability to cut through (Wayne Swan laughs as he gets up to answer one of her questions, the plagiarism & other Lieberal MPs desperate to have her job and undermining her etc etc etc.

Just blame it on the press, they attack Julie cuz she is a woman.

OTOH not many in the press denigrate Julia. They know she would rip them a new one if they made unfair attacks on her! Also, Julia is always formidably prepared: she bested Abbot in Health and Hockey on WorkChoices, she knew the Act in detail and just ate Hockey up in a couple of interviews on Lateline. Both Julie and Julia are lawyers by education and experience. Julia is the one you want representing you! And doesn't she look good as Acting PM!

Well the story goes that joe was third choice!
First of all Turncoat asked tip, on the understanding that if tip took the job he would not challenge for the leadership, tip declined, apparently Turnbull said thats ok I think you're a wanker anyway but the party are presuring me, tip responded, the feelings mutual mal, I couldn't work with such a huge ego, again.
The next cab off the rank was Robb, considered by most in the party as the best bet should tip be too afraid of the job, apparently he dosn't come across as warm and fuzzy like Hockey, so mal crossed him off the list.
Then as just about the last man standing, Turnbull nuzzled up to the bear and said ,Joe you want to be shadow treasurer? well joe couldn't say yay quick enough, and he also promissed mal there'd be no challenge for the leaders job, such a loyal bunch those Libs.

Tragedy for the Fibs, Robb is the only one on their side with economics qualifications (v at least six on the Labor side) but Robb has an enormous charisma deficit, boring as batshit and just drones on and on and on. . .

And so the Lieberal Party continue their slide to minor party status.

Wonder if the Roosterman did ask Costello? Waste of time, Costello is not the man to, for at least 2 years and 99.99% probable at least 5 years, to stand up and ask a question and then have to sit down and listen to Wayne Swoon answer it and rubbish Costello, Costello's 11 years as Treasurer etc. Costello is NOT the man for that!

I never made any of that up monk, ( well maybe the bit about joe saying he wouldn't challenge) the story I just wrote was reported by Mark Rielly on 7 news last night, if it was on the news it must be true,right?

I have seen it reported but I never pay much mind to things that can't or won't be confirmed. I doubt it myself, for the reasons I outlined in why Tip would knock back the job. Maybe the Roosterman might confirm it some time.

I further rather doubt it because Tip is not well liked in the Fib caucus.

It is believed the two men spoke on Sunday about the pressure on Ms Bishop to quit, and again yesterday after it was reported Mr Turnbull had made the offer to Mr Costello. Mr Costello is believed to have told people that Ms Bishop had done nothing wrong.

And there goes the last shred of economic credibility Tip had!
