This is a convenient excuse to ignore copper internet as the reason the libs were tipped out of power!

But the history books will remind everyone that is was the mining companies who got rid of th eprime minister who dare try and make this a clever country again!

MARK MY WORDS: WE ALL KNOW THE LIBERAL VOTERS ARE DEEPLY ASHAMED OF THEIR LEGACY OF COPPER INTERNET AND NEED THIS RC AS THEIR GET OUT OF JAIL FREE CARD!

Yet both major parties have evolved to be totally useless groups that seek only power for themselves and continually fail to put Australia and Australians first.

How do you suggest your solution be attained? It would seem only BO has suggested a solution.

Australia is in desperate need of a NEW third major party. It has been for years.

Major parties are seeking to appeal to a broad church of voters. What you perceive of them as "continually failing to put Australia and Australians first," is them seeking sufficient votes to win government. I much prefer a party which seeks to maintain our position in the world and look after all it's voters than a fascist party like the Tories which appear to be only looking after the Big End of town, the silver-tails, the Bosses. The ALP appears to be doing that at the moment. The Greens appears to be doing that. It is why the ALP and the Tories are always attacking them, they are perceived as a real threat.

Maybe so. However, there are none on the horizon. The PHONies are full of racist/Islamophobic bullshit. They seek to isolate us from the rest of the world and destroy our good standing in International circles. The PHONies have Hanson, an out and out bitch as their leader and idiots like Roberts as her deputy. Cory Bernardi and his Conservatives are just as big a bunch of lunatics. There is basically no one else of any value out there.

According to whom? We presently have four in fact. Our voting system ensures that the candidate who receives the highest number of votes wins the seat and they then choose the Prime Minister who forms Government. While I often count the Nationals as being "Tories" in reality they represent a different constituency to the Liberals. The ALP and Greens are different again. It seems to work reasonably well.

The places it doesn't work are where they rely on "first-past-the-post" voting to decide who represents them. There, three or more parties are invariable divisive and result in stalemate.
