No, he's gone to the dogs.
If Donald Trump is so close to the Ruskis, why couldn't he get Vladimir Putin to put novichok in Xi Jjinping's lipstick?

Apparently, there are "family issues" connected to his resignation.

His Dad has just had open-heart surgery. His Mum has muscular dystrophy. His sister, journalist, Julia Baird, has cancer. I can understand him wanting to be a good son/brother, under the circumstances and take care of his loved ones, politics can wait.

There has been a steady ground swell against him and his bad decisions. He is not popular and his decision to quit is merely his ego taking control and easing him out before he gets kicked out and drawn and quartered.

He is obviously looking beyond the now and wants to try to retain some credibility for what he has in mind in the future.

It is a shame that several other State Premiers and Chief Ministers wouldn't take the hint and throw in the towel as well.

There doesn't seem to be any decent "I really WANT to do the best for my area" pollies out there .... they are all in it for the nose in the trough thing ... a lifetime of a HUGE Pension and etcetera.

Politicians have always been about equal in popularity as used car salesmen, real estate sales persons, and taxi drivers. All are a little shonky. :rofl

Indeed .. kicked out for losing the Nat's seat of Orange, then drawn and quartered by the ICAC for the fake Greyhound Industry Inquiry (with a predetermined intention to ban Greyhound racing before a single witness had been called, and relying on 15 year old info from Canada irrelevant to Aust or NSW) as a pretence to justify selling dog tracks to developers.

So when he said he's "Quit politics" I believe him and expect he'll go back to banking, now that his selling off of public assets agenda is over.
