I presume that the "indigenous people" are still pushing to have the word aboriginal, or whatever, in our Constitution?

As somebody remarked, somewhere, IF you were born in Australia and your parents were born in Australia and your grandparents are buried in Australia, then you ARE indigenous.

Also, isn't somebody pushing to have some sort of check/DNA test for your aboriginality BEFORE you can claim a hand out? At the moment every form you fill out has a slot to tick ... I've often wondered what would happen if you actually did tick that box? Do you need to provide PROOF that you have aboriginal blood running in your veins?

if I was aboriginal.. I would demand they have dna tests or something to prove it.. blue eyes and red hair dont do it for me.,

if I want an Australian passport I have to prove I have citizenship...whats the difference?..

MOST CONVICTS who were sent to Oz were males .... they shacked up with aboriginal females ... there was little else here to have sex with ... other than kangaroos.

The stupid thing is that these "associations" were NOT legal so there was no "marriage" recorded and thus no "birth certificate".

and now he is on the soap box.. telling everyone how hard its been for him and his people..

I dont know if anyone saw the OJ Simpson doco on SBS the other night it was his life before the murder..

and what a shallow shell of a man he was.. he did nothing nor did he care about the black community all he wanted was to be a white man and I reckon he thought he was towards the end..he beat his wife senseless yet never got charged white people were all over him.. not sure what he had to be honest but when you looked into his eyes there was nothing..empty... not even a soul...

Also several Aussie TV "stars" found that their grandfather (or great grandfather) shacked up with some aboriginal female, she had kids but they could NOT be registered because they were not married.

This was on "Who do you think you are" ... the Aussie version. Grant was not one of them that I recall.

I read it in an article just a few days ago but now I can't find it. It said something along the lines of he didn't want to be pigeon holed as an ambassador for Aboriginals.

Now it's different because he has his book, his charmed existence, his political aspirations and his new orange tan.
