That doesn't make a lot of sense. The rescue bill was shot down by Republicans. Put Obama in the oval and the bill would still be gridlocked.

McCain can still come out of this a winner. Bush endorsed the bill and yet the GOP in congress shot it down. If McCain stands up in front of a camera and tells the republican congress to harden the fuck up and pass the bill, and then it passes, he comes off as a strong leader, someone able to provide cohesive government in a crisis, a hip-shootin maverick who's going to fix the stink in Washington.

I actually think Mac is a hip shooting Maverick on this, I think this is why he is the best President who will never be President.

Because McCain is not a real Republican loyalist he has had to pose as one to unify the party, one argument he has had is that he is not a Democrat and Americans have voted for divided government more often than they have not in the last 100 years fearing one party controlling everything.

Obama has voted straight down the Democratic line, he has NO record of opposing Democratic orthodoxy so prior to the financial crises Mac could say do we want a Democratic party loyalist running the White House with what will probably be a Democratic Congress?

But this financial crises hurts that argument because we are seeing gridlock at a time we need consensus, it does not matter Republicans are as responsible, most Americans will think how do we stop this divided government and start getting solutions?

McCain, though in reality would be the most non partisan President in a long time, will probably not be seen that way, he can not get a Republican Congress, so I think many Americans will say let’s give the Dems a go with the entire government and see what they do.

We need unity.

That is not what I believe but I think it might fly if the financial crises does not subside.

Side note: Bush has never really been a traditional Republican President since 9-11 (this is a history thing, not a short term thing) he advocated the most radical nation building democracy agenda since Roosevelt. He has spent more money than any President since Roosevelt. He has passed the greatest expansion of government power since Roosevelt or Truman.

Obama has spent 9 million dollars on political advertising in texas.

What the fuck, man? You're not going to win texas. Stop wasting money. Meanwhile Colorado, which you do have a half chance of winning is right next door and you're being outspent there by McCain, who's thrown 5 million at the state. It's Colorado. You had your DNC there. Pay attention fuckwit, or you're going to lose. Colorado is key. I know it, Dean-o knows it, McCain knows it. Why don't you?

Are you CLAIMING that the US has had in the past century more two party democratically elected coalition governments that it has had majority elected one party government's?

Meanwhile Obama has opened up a 5 point lead in the polls in Florida following the economic abortion.

That is significant.

I think the only thing that will save McCain now would be a huge Obama blunder during the remaining debates (not likely) or major foreign policy crises. (?)

Some in the Obama camp are even prepping it could be an Obama landslide.
