ALA manifesto
While ALA was founded on stopping the Islamisation of (spread of Islam in) Australia, the Party’s manifesto shows a broad base of policies including:
· smaller government
· integration not segregation
· reconciliation (no apartheid)
· affordable cleaner energy,
· citizenship and community
· improving health care
· ageing in dignity
· freedom of information
· smarter learning
· better future
· back to basics for public broadcasting
· fairer trade while securing Australian jobs
· reciprocal foreign ownership of Australian land
· protecting the environment
· restoring civil society
· advancing the natural family
· foreign affairs and aid
· defending Australia
· Constitutional change (opposed) and,
· lower income tax, but broader consumption taxes.

The link I posted on the previous page led to that .... I guess nobody follows "links"?Black Orchid wrote:ALA manifesto

I think maybe ALA in the Senate and INFORMAL in the HOR. Doesn't really matter here in the ACT as it is a SAFE ALP Seat ..... still a MESSAGE is just that and MT (empty) will NEVER be a voted in Liberal/Coalition PM of Australia.

I like to have a sample of what the link is about. So I just provided a sampleNeferti~ wrote:The link I posted on the previous page led to that .... I guess nobody follows "links"?

I think you are wrong and never say NEVER. Remember you said Tony would NEVER be tossed aside for Malcolm? He was and I thought it was pretty obvious that was the way the ballot would go.Neferti~ wrote:still a MESSAGE is just that and MT (empty) will NEVER be a voted in Liberal/Coalition PM of Australia.

Re: Alternative for Conservatives
And this is why most of us "rusted on" Liberal Conservatives never expected the Liberal Party to act like the Labor Party.Black Orchid wrote:I like to have a sample of what the link is about. I repeat. I will NEVER vote Liberal again while Turnbull is the Leader. Thousands of us think the same and will vote "informal" in the HOR next election.

Re: Alternative for Conservatives
Doesn't policy come into it at all for you?
I come from a long line of 'rusted on' Liberal voters but the older I get the more I fail to relate to, and understand, the logic of voting for a particular party 'just because'. Left or right. I prefer to think for myself. I will criticise both equally if I don't think they are acting in the best interest of ordinary Australians and I don't buy into personal attacks re 'Gillard being barren', 'Tony is a misogynist' or 'Julie Bishop looks like an old hag'. It's childish and unproductive.
Labor will end up sending the country broke but the Liberals have also left a lot to be desired in recent years. I have never liked Turnbull but will vote on policy at election time as opposed to my personal likes/dislikes, whoever that may be. The more people swinging between parties/policies the more 'statements' of what we really want may actually be heard ie 'Stop the boats'.
What's the answer? I don't know but I don't think that voting informal is making enough of a statement to shake up either major party. Maybe I will make my statement by voting Australian Liberty Alliance

Re: Alternative for Conservatives
Libs and Labor are both driven by competing value systems.
Those "swinging voters" are the ones that have no understanding of what Laboractually stand for, otherwise they would never vote for them. If you have a Liberal mindset, then it should go against the very fibre of your being to vote for any ALP parasite.

Without 'swings' away from unpopular policy and/or towards more popular policy we would never have a change of government. Left or right.

Re: Alternative for Conservatives
The swings away from Liberal govts are usually due to length of time served and not policy. It only takes a generation to forget the criminal and irresponsible actions of a Labor govt.

Re: Alternative for Conservatives
Tribal voting as per the rusted-ons is pathetic and both sides have their unthinking members.
Policy is the only sensible way to vote.
Mind you both sides now seem to not stick to policy or their word.
