Of course we do. In case you haven't noticed, at its core the Olympics are a political exercise. Nations that host the games do so in an attempt to gional stage. Just like winning a lot of medals, host a successful Olympics is a potent political bragging chip.

Also, it's a long term rivalry between us. We've never hosted an unsuccessful Olympics, meanwhile every time russian have hosted it's been an unmitigated disaster. It one of the very last vestiges of the Cold War.
