I don't get your comment Neferti! It sounds like Phil is looking out for Abbott's interests.

If Abbott is doing 14 hour stints as a firefighter - that is lost time as a prime minister - the job he's paid to do. I believe most of the other firefighters are doing it on a voluntary basis, but Abbott is doing it on a prime minister's salary.

It is not essential that he's on the ground. He might be more useful visiting these horrific scenes and giving some comfort to the victims who have lost everything. That is what prime ministers usually do.
As usual, you are way off the track with NFI. Crawl back into your Greens hole or under the rock ...... you will be more comfortable there ... away from the Grown Ups.

I think Mr Abbott will make certain he is not in danger as he knows Australia desperately needs him to stop the waste, fix the budget emergency, stop the boats, and keep Australia open for business with the adults in charge. We can rely on his very good judgement to selfishly make sure he is never in harm's way.
Your concern is noted as is your sarcasm.

That's right Neferti. Mr Abbott and the grown ups are in charge now, and they'll keep Mr Abbott safe and sound as a bell. He is very important to Australia as you know Neferti. It's only proper that Mr Abbott our Iron Man PM get out there and keep us all safe from these awful fires, but he must never ever be in any real danger. He has to be selfless and just watch with the cameras while his mates do the dirty and really dangerous work. It must be breaking that huge heart of his. Heaven forbid that we might lose our Mr Abbott! It was bad enough when we lost Mr Holt, wasn't it Neferti? These leftards are terrible people, aren't they Neferti. I'm so glad you are here to stand shoulder to shoulder with me on this. Thanks Neferti, especially for the friendly welcome too!

Smugness = smug (smg)
adj. smug·ger, smug·gest
Exhibiting or feeling great or offensive satisfaction with oneself or with one's situation; self-righteously complacent: "the smug look of a toad breakfasting on fat marsh flies" (William Pearson).

Best to make sure that Sarah Hanson-Young is nowhere near him so her fat rolls don't provide the necessary fuel for the fire to do that.

Looks like Nef picked old Phil as a sarcastic leftard fucktard easier than a booger in the desert.

Ironically the local RFS 1st officer/chief who originally came from the Blue mountains [NSW] lives accross the road .. he's been away all week, and I noticed the big yellow truck back yesterday arvo ... about 10 years ago he served time for fiddling with his grand daughter.
