Is there some obligation on Parliamentarians to declare gifts like free air-travel in a privately owned jet? Surely there will be. We can't have Gina shouting free flights for our pollies (going about official Australian Government business) and there not be an expectation of a quid pro quo?

Seriously, you should stick to Ozpol where the threads like this one and posters are more to your level of single digit IQ

I remember this popped up after the first Prog trawl after the election, for dirt any dirt...
Former Prime Minister Julia Gillard issued a personal cheque worth $4,243 to the Department of Finance because Tim Mathieson had misused her taxpayer-funded car, The Australian exclusively reports. Late in 2012, a whistleblower tipped The Australian that Mr Mathieson was heavily using the taxpayer-funded car as he worked as PPS Hairwear salesman.

Like I said it seems to happen to both sides.
Of course if I was Aussie I'd start a topic titled...
Thieves among the ALP.
Leaving the former Speaker and now independent Sunshine Coast MP, Peter Slipper, out of the equation for now, over the period 29 Liberal and National party members repaid $57,064.34, while 22 Australian Labor party MPs repaid $31,089.02.
Together the Greens and independent MP Bob Katter repaid $2,003.47.

I'm going to a wedding soon. I'll keep all the receipts for every expense involved and send 'em off to the Attorney General so that he can authorise a refund to me from Taxpayers' Treasury. I'm very confident of getting it.

I'd like a refund for the time I wasted reading that.

Do you think I could get a tax deduction for expenses for attending a wedding, as a guest... or for competing in a trio-athalon as a non professional, WG? Let alone get them to pay my expenses...
Quite a lark.

Well Abbott paid it back so I guess he wasn't entitled either. We've all known about these entitlement rorts for years yet people are too busy posting pictures of their food on facebook to demand any actual change. We continue to let them screw us over and tbat's why they keep doing it.

Regards Car Insurance...You are being ripped off..I was involved in an accident my fault other car a riteoff insured for $3,000 with the NRMA. I get a bill from a company that handles claims for the NRMA $3,250...( car cost plus $250 for the company handling the claim) ring up the NRMA. Sorry mate what you do is your business I will deal direct with you. As far as I'm concerned you are going to sell the car at auction I will pay the differnce after you sell it. Send receipts...I get receipts worth $3,250 with a note RECEIPIENT GENERATED RECEIPTS I ring up and tell them again. After a month I recieve a letter from their solicitor pay up or else.I ring the solicitor up tell them I am willing to pay the true amount ( car =$3,000 minus the money of the sale at auction)......two weeks later I get a letter from their solicitor We will settle for $2,600. I paid up. That is $650 less than what they asked in the first place.
