It's not a matter of liking or disliking Gillard - the alternative is worse. The problem is you lot think that Abbott is going to do the right thing by you, but he's not. Unless you're very wealthy, it will be a lose lose situation under an Abbott government. I have yet to see one policy of his which will benefit everyone equally.

He won't stop the boats and he won't make life easier for those on struggle street. The first thing that will happen if/when Abbott gets in is the interest rates will soar and there will be a huge hike in the cost of goods and services. House prices will soar again as more loopholes will open for foreign investors.

Mantra, you can't possibly KNOW what Abbott will be like, should he become the next Prime Minister. Don't pretend that you do.

People are just fed up with Gillard and the attitude has filtered down to the school children. If they have gotten this attitude from their parents, so what? The school kids aren't old enough to vote so Gillard shouldn't be too worried.

Now you are just being silly. I don't particularly "like" Tony Abbott (and never cared much for John Howard either), but the alternative is worse ... Gillard (and Rudd) have done an awful lot of damage and Abbott will have to do "whatever it takes" to get Australia back on an even keel. If he doesn't do the right thing, he won't last long.

Have you told your kids why they should LOVE Gillard? Parents don't necessarily talk politics with their school kids, but the children would pick up the current thoughts of the parents. They aren't stupid.

Don't get your knickers in a knot about Abbott. I doubt he will do anything too drastic that will affect you adversely.
