The tax dear boy was only going to effect the top users taxed.
Even Bob Brown said it wasn't going to effect anyone else.
Labor and the Greens said it over and over again.

Then almost at 11, suddenly there were income tax changes and compensation packages. Oh dear, short term memory loss Monkey boy?

How many Aussies are fully compensated Monk?
How many Aussies are over compensated Monk?
How many Aussies are under compensated Monk?
How many Aussies aren't compensated at all Monk?

...or will you look down at your Liebor spin sheet and quote Combets 9/10 Aussies will be compensated when the reality is at least 50% are worse off and that % will grow every year

Can I just remind you that the coalition accepts the "science" (what the fuck is with the quotation marks around science, gentlemen?) and has a policy in place to reduce emissions in australia by 140 million tonnes per year, and to drive a 50% reduction in emissions globally?

I don't think there is any political party in Australia which is siding with global warming skeptics on this issue. It's not just the fucking hippies who want to reduce emissions, folks.

P.s. new guy, I'd love to watch your podcast but you seem to have pasted in the wrong link.

Let me remind you they had no such policy until Labor on the back of Gore's propaganda film started to make headway. Then under Turnbull who had the Environment portfolio and convinced Howard he needed to do something they created a policy based on an ETS. Thus nullifying labor's environmental "advantage". Since then there has been much water under the bridge and Gore's propaganda film was discredited. The drought broke and we've had floods and lots of cold weather. There have been much to-ing and fro-ing and finally the climate scientists and prominent others, who dissent the alarmist claims have been heard.

Turnbull lost the leadership on the back of his climate beliefs and now the Liberals are in with a chance whereas under him they didn't have one.

old guy... I didn't watch this podcast I listened to it. I'll check

Now there are differences in policy,
One party doesn't claim that a tax will change the world's climate.

Carbon pricing of course was the big uncertainty hanging over the economy and now that is fixed. Even if Abbott were to become PM he would not rescind the Carbon Price and the electorate does not believe he would.
The biggest issue with the carbon tax is that it's a distraction for us while the government prepares to delve into international carbon trading. It makes no sense as it has not been proved successful and is open to rorting. The ordinary person isn't going to benefit from this, but just end up subsidising another gambling venue for the big boys who pull the government's strings.

You think that all people on low or middle incomes are given subsidies by the government - wrong! Only those on Govt. benefits are. There is a proportion of the single population who don't go anywhere near welfare and prefer to stand on their own in hard times. They still have to pay their taxes and electricity bills though.

Actually the topic wasn't about trhe TAX.
That was the direction JM took it in.
The podcast is about the Carbon issue re the science and observable changes, and also specifics on Australian changes. Unfortunately the link is bust... so I found another one to the same podcast.

i suggest you all have a listen.
I don't think there is a text version anywhere.

Thanks to Mattus for pointing that out, obviously JM didn't listen to it before commenting.

I listened to 15 minutes of the podcast - but had to switch off when it came to his spiel on the physics. If there was some simple text to explain it, which you say there isn't - then I remain ignorant. I agreed with much of what he had to say though and have used some of his "facts" in debates myself. I have always said that a tax on pollution would be easier to sell than a carbon tax. None of the revenue is going to be used to clean up this planet.
