WA already runs a generous and successful scheme.

Why would they want to join a sure fire ALP fuckup?

I'm a bit skeptical about ndis.

I fully support a scheme to provide rehabilitative support for people with disability for example resulting from an accident. But I'm very concerned that it will be abused as a cash hand out for bullshit "disabilities" like stress, anxiety, personality disorder, obesity and asthma by people who just don't really want to work or fit into society.

So a $500 million outlay by the NSW state government and a $200 million contribution by the federal government will kick off a trial for 10,000 people in the Hunter Valley.

Sounds like a great deal. NOT!

I guess you have no disability....or have any filial relationship to anyone who does.

What can they possibly do for the disabled? Everything is already subsidised I would assume. With any of these schemes - most of it goes into wages for the beaurocracy. The same applies to our hospitals and charities. They're all top heavy with pencil pushers.

Those who push the hardest for assistance might very well be the refugees, many of whom are ill or disabled. The charities for the homeless are already being stampeded with cries for help from the boat people and their resources have almost run out. There are still scores of thousands who are coming and now that we're offering a pick up service in Indonesia - I can't see too many Australian citizens getting much out of this scheme.

The Labor stronghold on NSW was 16 years of tears Finally NSW came to its senses and got rid of Labor. They lost seats they had held for a century and this was the biggest swing in Australian political history (19 per cent) so the mess they left behind was astronomical

So whether I have a disability or not is irrelevant. I think the money is better spent elsewhere for the time being

Do you?

Do your children and grandchildren?

People with mental illness that is caused by Genetics shouldn't have the rest of us pay for their problems. People who drive cars are already covered by CPI if they have an accident.

People with "bad backs" and get the DSP due to this "affliction" should be monitored. Not get it for "life". I know several people in this situation and there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with their backs, fronts or sides.

What is the NDIS supposed to cover that already is not?

Sydney's traffic is close to the worst in the world, but Labor continued to cancel plans for new freeways and rail links.

Hospitals are below par, community services are in a state of abject neglect and the suburban sprawl that is the western suburbs is devoid of decent infrastructure.

They could start by better using the money there. I am sure it would help the disabled too?
