The ad was quite good. There is a huge shortage of science and maths teachers at the moment, and perhaps this ad might encourage more females to move in that direction, although there's the problem of finding someone to teach them first.

In movies you always see a serious looking female scientist wearing her hair tied up severely and thick black rimmed glasses. She then undoes her hair and whips off her glasses and suddenly there's a sexy young woman. No-one complains about those images.

I found it to be more of an insult to science than anything else. It seems to be saying that the superficiality of make-up and fashion are somehow companions of science.

I would have thought that they are the superficiality of all endevours that women are involved in.

It doesn't matter how we get womens attention on the sciences... we need to... it should not just be a male domain.

Remember it was only 2 centuries or less ago that it was thought that if we tought complex maths to young women their brains would melt down. If sexing it up in a few adds is what is required to get them to at least have a look then that is a good thing... right.

Is coca cola good for you.... sexying it up make you want it (or at least it does for most because the adds work)

For some reason I think of anatomy whenever I read this thread title.

Luckly there are too many images on the web for me to select on that topic.

Seriously, ads are for the target audience. Are we such old prudes that we take offense on behalf of the younger generation even if the ad is effective in getting their attention.

Are science dudes like geeks the new sex symbol....

I think there is nothing sexier or more dangerous than a woman who is very attractive, wears those small square glasses and has the brain the size of a planet and knows how to combine all.....now that is one powerful person.

It's a fucking joke video, made by some jackass PR expert, who thinks that sex sells everything.

Get serious, get science.
