A pretty disappointing budget. The tax cut on personal savings is stripped. Ironic in a budget which hails a surplus, really.

I wouldn't mind so much if it was being invested in education or research, but instead it's being pissed into welfare.

The tax cuts on deposits shouldn't have been stripped for the simple reason that the banks, regardless of their greed, need to stay healthy.

As far as the rest of the budget goes - it might appear generous, but those who have seen it before with Labor know that what they give with one hand, they take more back with the other. Looking at their forward figures and the expectations they have for companies to continue to make huge profits and that future expenditure is guaranteed, is a big mistake.
