"PETER Costello has vowed to Liberal leader Malcolm Turnbull that he doesn't want his job or any other job on the Opposition front bench.

And Mr Turnbull yesterday said he had accepted the word of the former Treasurer.

It is understood the pledge was given in conversations between the two men a week ago and at the weekend, and had also been made in a February 6 radio interview with Mr Costello."

I'll bet Turnbull leaked this story himself, I think it shows how scared he is tip might roll him.

The Fibs might even vote for Tip as leader, desperate enough! That should secure the next couple of elections after 2010 for Labor!

Costello will return when the party needs him most. Sometime between 2010 and 2013. Most likely closer to 2013, he'll arise like a re-born Ming as the last true vestige of post-Menzies liberalism. A true titan among mortal elementals, yet with a weakness that those who remember the Howardian pall will harken back to. The man has no real heart for the fight. He's a grand actor, terrific at the theatre and when in charge of writing the script, unassailable at the despatch box, yet he lacks the true heart for the blood-letting needed to secure a victory.

From a genetic perspective, observe Costello in profile. The man has no jaw!! A leader MUST have a jaw!! Keating.....now Keating had a jaw!! and a vocabulary, a wit and the brains to use all three. Ahhhh, would but we had another Keating.
