We had some new ones put in when I first started nearly 15 years ago - but they were all demountables. They can be taken away at any time if the department decides that someone else needs them more. But the new buildings are all permanent constructions and can never be taken away, they're ours for good.

A very good programme in general!

I'll be glad when I finally get my shed back though - it's inside a fenced off construction site, which is a hard hat area and I can't just waltz in and out. Not far off completion now though and it looks pretty impressive as well as being a lot bigger than the old library.

Downloaded latest BER Report from here: http://www.bertaskforce.gov.au/document ... report.pdf

* So much for “School Halls” program: 31% of projects were actually halls, compared to 32% Libraries and 36% gyms.

* The NSW and Victorian governments were responsible for delivering 37 per cent of the program. We believe their poorer performance on both cost and observed quality has been influenced by the hollowing out of public works capacity over the last 20 years, which has limited the ability to effectively manage an outsourced delivery model.”

* “Despite the validity of complaints, the majority of school principals have stressed to the Taskforce their appreciation for the major new investment in school infrastructure which will deliver improved educational outcomes and is highly appreciated by their school communities.”
