Bullying laws

"...Victoria's laws came after Brodie Panlock jumped to her death in 2006.

A court was told co-workers at a cafe abused her, spat on her, poured beer over her and held her down while she was doused in cooking oil.

The owner, manager, chef and a waiter were charged under occupational health and safety laws and fined a total of $337,000..."

Fines?!!!!! The coworkers should experience exactly the same treatment. The restaurant should be closed down. The fiens are an improvement?

We live in a society that truly favours the perpetrators over the victims.

A hefty fine hurts pretty bad.

How do you think that person felt before he/she killed her/himself and how do you think his/her family feels? It seems these people caused a death through their actions and the owners of the restaurant were either involved or negligent in not supervising the activities of their employees.

Hmm - all of those things sound like assault by the legal definition. Would have thought that they might have copped more than just a fine, considering what happened.

I imagine the relatives of the dead woman could level assault charges—action so far has been on IR grounds.
