Now with Defence and trade having dominated talks between Obama and Gillard in Washington recently, it appears that within 40 minutes of her enjoying a slice of commie-mite on toast with a tall black she's signed us up to yet another messianic bus-stop pursuit, only in Libya this time- Scratch the Middle East.

Gillard (our troops and taxes) will assist the US in Libya in exchange for their standing behind our wacky Carbon-Tax and PM.... one Obamas administration have zero intentions of introducing themselves, well not at this stage anyway, given America think he's a socialist lefty crack-pot as it is.
But it was the iconic Aussie breakfast spread Vegemite which dominated discussion with a group of high school students who received a surprise visit from the two leaders it's advised. Sure it did.

Ms Gillard spent 40 minutes with Mr Obama in the Oval Office on her first official visit to the White House since becoming prime minister.

Mr Obama later praised the prime minister and Australia's efforts in Afghanistan, saying 60 years after the signing of the ANZUS treaty the US has 'no stronger ally than Australia'.

With the evolving situation in Libya firmly on the agenda, Mr Obama later told reporters Muammar Gaddafi and his regime would be 'held accountable for whatever violence continues to take place there'.

He has also authorised $A14.8 million in humanitarian aid to help international and non-governmental organisations assist and evacuate people fleeing the violence in Libya.

'The bottom line is I think Australia and the United States stand shoulder to shoulder in sending a clear message that we stand for democracy, we stand for an observance of human rights, and that we send a very clear message to the Libyan people that we will stand with them in the face of unwarranted violence and the continuing suppression of democratic ideals that we've seen there,' Mr Obama said.

'Because of these shared values, because of the deep and longstanding relationship between our two countries, it is an extraordinary pleasure to have Prime Minister Gillard here. And I have to say that from a distance at least, she is doing an outstanding job.'

He said having invited Ms Gillard to address a joint sitting of Congress on Wednesday morning (Washington time) was a 'high honour that is reserved for only our closest friends'.
