Wedged from the left on gay marriage and wedged from the right on NP.

Tony Abbott has used the first anniversary of his elevation to the Coalition leadership to attack the Government over nuclear power.

Several Labor MPs are publicly calling for the party to change its stance and support the creation of nuclear energy in Australia.

Prime Minister Julia Gillard says she does not support the push but is happy for the topic to be debated at the party's national conference next year.

But Mr Abbott says the debate within the Labor Party is part of factional brawl that will tear it apart.

"Just as the left of the Labor Party have put gay marriage on the agenda for Labor's conference next year, elements of the right have hit back by putting nuclear power on the agenda," he said.

"It's symptomatic of a Government that has lost its way."

Any moves opening the way for nuclear power could prove worrisome for a Government which has used an alliance with the Greens to cement its power.

True democrats would welcome such discussions.

That is what makes it so hilarious.

The Liebor party has never been truly democratic. They are about toeing the party line and they now find the lines somewhat blurred and are struggling with it and the Greens are shoving it fair up their clacker.

Excuse me for being amused at their staunch idiocy

The more open a party is to internal discussion of policy, the more open it is to wedge politicing. Would seem that the ALP is plenty democratic (as far as these things go in mainstream political parties).

Only lately and because they have been wedged. Where the Liberal party has always encouraged free though and discussion every day and not relegated to party conferences where the agenda of what is to be discussed is laid out according to party politics.

Enjoy your hivemind. Assimilation is futile....for a tard
