I'm against capital punishment. There's always room for error. Better 100 locked up for life than one person killed who is later found to be innocent.

Let's call these tokens green chips, which can be used as prison currency for buying Xbox games , entertainment like use of billiard tables, TV , books etc
Even movies and luxury items ie chocolate, soft drink etc

Let's put our convicts to good use, construct Green energy farms out in the middle of nowhere to generate electricity.

For the less serious criminals, perhaps their green-chips can reduce their sentence even. Ie early release.
