Labors broken promises- Keeping the score!

Post by mellie » Fri Mar 07, 2025 5:26 pm

Government’s National Messaging System announced in 2023 unready to alert millions of Aussies who face Tropical Cyclone Alfred

The Labor government’s $10 million National Messaging System (NMS), announced in 2023, is still deemed not operational as millions of Australians face Tropical Cyclone Alfred.

No wonder Albo wanted to change the cyclones name from Anthony to Alfred.
And wait, there's always more, this slides off the back of the Labor government cutting funding to the BoM, even tried changing it's name to just the "beuro ".
It's also said that those within the BoM are unhappy about having to reduce the number of weather baboons, and having to base weather predictions on seasonal averages due to new technology start-up failures and reduced numbers of ACTUAL meteorologists working within this "beuro".

They were also caught red handed lying to the courts recently too, so how much faith can we have in such a troubled government agency that's making errors all over the place?

Perhaps Albanese is sensible cutting funding and staff at the "beuro", particularly with newer AI technologies starting up, and less need for actual meteorologists?

He of all people would know how important or unimportant climate and weather scientists are, right?

Perhaps he's made the right call, because what I can say from my own local experience in Central Victoria, is that the "beuro" has been getting it very wrong lately, for several months or so.

I thought it was an app glitch, but perhaps they're deadwood and he's cut public servants in places where they aren't really necessary?

Perhaps cyclone Anthony -vrs- Albert was a BoM office in-joke, meaning some scientists aren't overly impressed with him right now over there.

When Samantha Murphy first went missing, Victoria Police lacked resources to find her.
One such resource were cadava dogs, which meant Victoria Police had to organise dogs from NSW police, which took several months.

A Labor state government enshrined a culture of neglect and squanderous spending in other areas too, and this culture extends into Labors federal ranks also.

Ie, Public health, Education and Housing. Emergency services ie, Police , Fire and ambulance. The list goes on.

Perhaps it suited their Labor union thugs and criminals " bikies" to not have service dogs , such as cadava/ sniffer dogs on the police force? Well they're back!

After many years without funding, specialist dogs are returning to Victoria.

It costs money to train police dogs, but it costs lives when we don't.
