Coalition to cut education:
http://www.theage.com.au/national/coali ... 12s1z.html
The planned savings - contained in a document released late on Wednesday - come on top of more than $3 billion of other cuts to education programs, including trades training centres and computers in schools, which the Coalition announced in May.
The Coalition says it will cut $330 million from a program to improve results in the poorest schools, and $227 million from funding to help universities enrol students from poor backgrounds.
It will also reduce funding for apprenticeship programs by $954 million.
Don’t waste a vote on Greens. Vote 1 Labor to prtect health and education. And the NBN.

Abbott mentioned this a while ago. The cuts were to be mostly from bureaucracy and to divert funds into $750 million funding of new technical colleges for lower socioeconomic areas. Not all poor students want to go to University. Plenty want to be tradies and need access to training and skill development. This story is a beat up. Scare tactics at their worst from a paper that publicly endorses Gillard.
