The vast majority of people who are against illegal boat arrival are of this opinion because they believe as I do, that is that we should choose who comes to this country. Nothing to do with colour of skin and all to do with compatibility of culture. And yes, Islamic culture is a major part of it, it is an incompatible culture with our Western values. He umpires Aussie Rules games at a semi-professional level, his daughter serves in the Australian Army, just as he did. His son is a normal, Australian, working-class male. "Islamic culture" covers a wide repertoire of cultures ranging from the sophisticate to the tribal.

I would suggest that all old style, established religions are misogynistic. Look at Christianity, it features Misogyny in the Bible - Old and New Testaments. It contains instructions on how women should act, how they should be treated. Hinduism is similar. All are reflective of the times (and after) that they were established. Islam has like Christianity, it's good and it's bad points. Women are and can be treated as men's equals within Islamic cultures. Islam overlays some of the few Matriarchal cultures in the world in Indonesia and the Maldives. Christianity has eliminated all aspects of that sort of culture, whenever it has encountered it. Yet, according to you, Islam is at fault here? Really?
Exceptions are not exceptions, they are the rule. Muslims are compatible with Western societal norms - if Muslims are given a chance and are not being continually hounded and having the extremists held up as the norms for Muslim behaviour which is invariably what the Islamophobes do. Islamism is not representative of anything other than the Islamist view on Islam. Muslims are ordinary, everyday, law-abiding, assimilated people for the overwhelming majority.
