Most Refugees are on welfare for at least 5 years here. That means lots of money and freebies. Health care. Education. Housing, etc, etc, etc...

The Morrison government plans to have all children of asylum-seekers still on Nauru ­relocated to Australia by the end of the year.

The Australian can reveal there are now only 40 children of ­asylum-seekers living on the ­island, and that 46 infants have been born to asylum-seekers sent to Nauru since the former Labor government reopened the pro­cess­ing centre there in 2012.

For some, however, that move may not be the upgrade they were expecting:

Asylum-seeker families on Nauru are secretly being moved to Adelaide as the federal government bows to public pressure to remove children from immigration detention.

I’m fine with Nauru. But Adelaide is cruel and unusual.

Peter Dutton says asylum seeker children brought to Australia will not stay here permanently, but he could not confirm if parents would be allowed to leave Nauru with them …

“We’re in the process of doing it in Nauru but we’re doing it in a way that’s not going to restart boats ... we’ve been very clear that people are not settling permanently here,” Mr Dutton told 2GB.

“We’ve been very clear that when they receive medical assistance, then the expectation is that they will return to their country of origin.”

My understanding of what Dutton said is that the men, who were deemed to have criminal records precluding them from being sent to the US, will be locked up when they arrive in Adelaide.

Ummm no. Apparently their children are! No need for the men to accompany them as I am sure they have a mother? There is plenty of medical assistance on Nauru.

There isn't. My brother who has been to Nauru would make the point that it is the size of a large country town. If you need specialist care, you have to leave Nauru - either as an Asylum Seeker or a native Naruruan. You have access to a small general hospital and that is it on Nauru.

As to why the men are accompanying their children to Australia - because they are being allowed to. Take it up with YOUR Government, BO. As far as I am concerned, the Tories are a bunch of outright bastards on Asylum Seeker issues. Labor is little better. Amazing what a massive swing in a bye-election has on Government policies, hey?

So YES, some have been found not to be genuine refugees.
Some have been found also to be not genuine and a risk by the US.
Oh and bwian many have rejected the US offer in order to stay on Nauru, you know that hell hole all you Lefties cra on about and try to make their way to Australia where the welfare is sooooo generous.
