Malcolm Turnbull will go. Not immediately perhaps, but even he's clever enough to realise it's been more than a decade since a prime minister who led a party to victory has been given the opportunity to lead his colleagues to the subsequent election. He's finished. The only issue still to be determined is the manner of his going. Personally, I think he'll grow bored as soon as he understands his impotence to achieve anything.

He's finished. The only issue still to be determined is the manner of his going. Personally, I think he'll grow bored as soon as he understands his impotence to achieve anything.

You would like to think that he'd step down if he can acknowledge that he's impotent in regard to implementing his ideology, but he will be like any other PM when they reach the pinnacle of their career - he'll hang on until he's pushed out. He'll probably make it to the next election simply because the Coalition doesn't have another suitable candidate, but he will lose to Shorten. That's a sure bet. The Coalition are all over the place and most of the cabinet are burnt out. Our debt will end up being 4 times the amount it was when Abbott was elected.
