When the Work Choices legislation was before the High Court all of the Labor states ran dead. So who actually opposed the legoslation at the beginning. Tony Abbott and Kevin Andrews, and not Malcolm Turnbull .

When Howard and Costello introduced Work Choices in 2005 it was Abbott, along with Kevin Andrews, who opposed it in cabinet (Malcolm Turnbull did not). These two staunch Catholics believed Work Choices would hurt a traditional (Catholic) working family and they were correct. This was documented in Howard's biography and has been mentioned by Phillip Coorey and others.
