You may have heard of the "porn filter" to keep children safe in the UK but it is more than that:
According to Wired:
As well as pornography, users may automatically be opted in to blocks on “violent material”, “extremist related content”, “anorexia and eating disorder websites” and “suicide related websites”, “alcohol” and “smoking”. But the list doesn’t stop there. It even extends to blocking “web forums” and “esoteric material“, whatever that is. “Web blocking circumvention tools” is also included, of course.
"Esoteric material" could be whatever anyone decides it to be. Time for David Cameron to go and be replaced by a freedom loving liberal.

I think this is a good thing.
The UK is ahead of most countries with it's defence of child exploitation on the net. They have an organisation called CEOPS that looks into this stuff.
I fully support them and what they are trying to do. Electing to have a filter on your system if a child is using it is not censorship. It is providing a tool to allow me to elect to have that shite filtered. I can choose to not have it..... that's not censorship that is choice.
Protecting the young from sexual exploitation and catching the scumbags that create, share and view it is a fantastic service provided by some very committed people who are supported by some of the biggest names in IT.
Always remember what you post, send or do on the internet is not private and you are responsible.
