SOME of the nation's biggest companies fear proposed new rules on workplace bullying could force them to monitor the Twitter and Facebook use of employees, potentially exposing the companies themselves to bullying claims by workers.
The government's Safe Work Australia has released a draft code of practice on bullying, but an alliance of more than 200 companies - many in the top 100 - are urging the body against a code that could be used in court actions, saying bullying is highly subjective and that they cannot control the use of social media outside working hours.
