We hear a lot of this these days with Peter Slipper and Craig Thomson. One of the most memorable episodes occuring during the Howard years, with Labor MP Mal Colston. Hated by Labor, (what's new) and labelled a RAT.
Tony Abbott and Christopher Pyne have recently been going on about Craig Thomson and we had the farce of seeing the Leader of the Opposition racing for the door on a previous occasion.

Is there really such a thing as a tainted vote? OR are stupid politicians just making their lives more difficult for no reason and disenfranchaising an electorate?
