I doubt anyone is going to get over excited about a Copper petty pinching. He was dumb...caught.

I am sure I have knocked off a paper clip from an employer years ago.

That is so stupid.

I always only claim expenses I am entitled.

If I think I could fudge it a little, I never do.

Stealing just shows you cannot be trusted and I have found that when they want to sack you, they go looking for anything they can use, expense fraud, lying on timesheets or anything that is not 100% above board and compliant will be found and you are gone and your employability will be shot.
Always remember what you post, send or do on the internet is not private and you are responsible.

A magistrate I spoke to said that he earned $300/hr as a lawyer. For anyone to front a courtroom to have charges of stealing $36 worth of treats is genuinely a waste of taxpayer money. All that needs to be done is the reimbursement of the cost of the treats, and just a minor reprimand.

$36 wouldn't hit the radar , police don't respond to burglaries,

You could walk out of a grocery store with $100 worth of food. They cannot stop you. Although, you would not be allowed back to make any genuine purchase again.
